Mergol'd The lapping of the measuring surfaces of worn micrometers, lever snap gauges, slide gauges and other uni- versal measuring instruments is made by means of special cast-iron cylindrical laps in the shape of rollers, 30 mm in diameter, whose faces rout not deviate from linearity and parallelism by more than 1-2 g. Although the lapping of one of the measuring faces of the Iap is not difficult, and can be made in batches with the simplest of equipment, the lapping of the other face becomes a more complicated operation, since in it the required paral- lelism of the two measuring faces is attained. In order m simplify and speed up considerably the preparation of the second face of the lap, the use of the fol- lowing equipment (see figure) is suggested. Four threaded holes 1M8 x 1N are cut crosswise in the side and also 10-20 mm from TI - Preparation of laps for the lapping of gauges JF - Measurement Techniques DO - 10.1007/BF01419167 DA - 2005-03-21 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/preparation-of-laps-for-the-lapping-of-gauges-RG9Wo65Nps SP - 503 EP - 503 VL - 2 IS - 7 DP - DeepDyve ER -
