AB - Abstract The changes in the composition of a photosensitive material composed of polyvinyl alcohol, zinc oxide, and bismuth chloride, both in the fabrication stage and under exposure (as a result of direct blackening), have been investigated. The form of the bismuth-containing compound, which is involved in photochemical transformations and can be responsible for the formation of visible image, is established.
