AB - STERILIZATION OF DISPOSABLE PLASTIC MAGAZINES FOR SURGICAL SUTURING APPARATUS T. L. Prokopenko, A. M. Volkov, I. A. KorolWkov, UDC 615.472:617-089-84] : N. V. Ramkova, N. V. Kareev, and L. B. Chudnova 615.462.014.45 Investigations were carried out to develop regimes of gas and radiation sterilization of packaged plastic magazines of surgical suturing apparatus and to determine the effect of gas and radiation steriliza- tion of the physical and mechanical properties of these magazines. The regimes of gas and radiation sterilization were worked out on magazines manufactured from poly- carbonate resin (TU 6-16-1450-69) and impact-resistant polystyrene (STU 36-13-153-65); the magazines were loaded with staples of metal 40KKhNM and packed in a double polyethylene film of thickness 60-200 #m (GGST 10354-63). The magazines were artificially infected with the spores of microorganisms resistant to the effect of ethylene oxide, mixture nOB," and T rays. The density of infection was created with consideration of the massiveness of the initial (natural) contamination of the magazines under production conditions. After sterilization the magazines were placed in nutrient media and incubated in a thermostat. Effective regimes of gas sterilization of magazines were worked out in a portable gas sterilizer with pure ethylene oxide and mixture nOB n TI - Sterilization of disposable plastic magazines for surgical suturing apparatus JF - Biomedical Engineering DO - 10.1007/BF00561096 DA - 2004-10-15 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/sterilization-of-disposable-plastic-magazines-for-surgical-suturing-PO31qSdDSN SP - 33 EP - 35 VL - 7 IS - 1 DP - DeepDyve ER -
