TY - JOUR AU - Yang, Jing AB - The fault tree analysis method is used to locate and analyze the sealing failure of the plug stop valve. The analysis results show that the main reason for the failure is the unreasonable design of the sealing pair in contact between the cylindrical sealing ring and the flow channel port of the valve body, and the shear failure of the sealing ring occurs when the valve core bears the repeated action of medium pressure, friction and load. Through the mechanism analysis of the structural characteristics of the plug stop valve and the causes of seal failure, the transverse reinforcement structure change and optimization measures are adopted for the small hole at the inlet of the valve body, which can significantly reduce the shear force of the sealing ring, successfully solve the seal failure caused by the excessive leakage rate of the plug stop valve, and pass the leakage rate and life test verification.
