TY - JOUR AB - Army Medical Bulletin 23, a book of more than a thousand pages, elucidates such problems in military preventive medicine as sewage treatment and disposal, the protection of the water and food supplies and the prevention of diseases transmitted by insects. This bulletin shows what can be done in camp to keep flies and mosquitoes from breeding, how pasteurization plants can be quickly set in operation, how water supplies can be made potable by chlorination, and the disposal of refuse from the kitchen and stables. The numerous illustrations include fly traps, incinerators, latrines and septic tanks. This basic information on healthful camp life has, in this volume, been placed under one cover for the first time. The author has not endeavored to cover the entire field of military preventive medicine. His object was to provide medical officers with information that will help them determine by study and inspections the effect of TI - Military Preventive Medicine.
