TY - JOUR AU - Bokin, P. AB - CRITICISM AND BIBLIOGRAPHY Translated from inside back-cover, Steklo i Keramika, Vol. 22, No. 4, Aprit, 1965 A book has been published in Czechoslovakia called "Grinding and Polishing Glass" edited by Irzhi Getets. * It consists of three sections: the theory of the process of grinding and polishing glass, the technology of the production of various glass articles, methods of control of materials used for mechanical processing of articles and the products themselves. This book describes the various techniques in mechanical processing of glass, namely, polished, optical components, table articles and also ornaments. The book makes wide use of the results of Soviet and foreign research and gives new and original advances in the Czech industry. In great detail the book discusses the methods of making polishing powders of various chemical composition, the effect of the shape and size of the particles on the efficiency and the properties of "bonded polishers" (that is, the grains of polishing powder themselves). Of much interest is the description of the machinery used for grinding and polishing glass articles and the methods of assessing the processes using this equipment. The authors of the book give a lot of experimental material on the mechanical treatment TI - Grinding and polishing glass JO - Glass and Ceramics DO - 10.1007/BF00676202 DA - 2004-11-05 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/grinding-and-polishing-glass-NeutGyXatj SP - 284 EP - 284 VL - 22 IS - 4 DP - DeepDyve ER -
