TY - JOUR AU - Shlimovich, E. AB - URPD-64 MANUALLY OPERATED GAS ARC TORCH FOR CUTTING NONFERROUS METALS AND STAINLESS STEEL E. A. Shlimovich UDC 621.791.948 The Odessa special design and technological office for oxygen, compressor, and gas-cutti~ ma- chinery (SKTB KGM),in collaboration with the Avtogenmash Plant, has developed and put into quantity production the URPD-64 facility for high-speed processing of ferrous metals, ferrous alloys, and stain- less steel with minimum labor. This facility is based on the UDR models developed earlier by the VNIIavtogen Welding Institute; operating experience of the Avtogenmash Plant was taken into account in production planning. The URPD-64 consists of a control panel and a cutting torch. The control panel provides mounts for a single-pole contactor to switch welding current to the torch on and off, control relay with gas unit consisting of electromagnetic valves arranged on the basis of the gas feed control cyelogram; mea- suring and monitoring instrumentation; toggle switches controlling feed of gases and connections to power lines. A water flowmeter valve arrangement with normally open contacts which switch the URPD-64 on only when the coolant water flowrate is at least 5 liters/rain is provided for accident-free and normal operation. The flowmeter valve assembly (Fig.l) is installed downstream of the TI - URPD-64 manually operated gas arc torch for cutting nonferrous metals and stainless steel JO - Chemical and Petroleum Engineering DO - 10.1007/BF01136491 DA - 2005-01-27 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/urpd-64-manually-operated-gas-arc-torch-for-cutting-nonferrous-metals-MytzDtk9og SP - 771 EP - 772 VL - 2 IS - 11 DP - DeepDyve ER -
