BarU'chuk At the Joint Stock Company "Mazeikiai NaP, z," atmospheric resid from West Siberian cmdes is processed in a fuel production scheme in the combination unit KT- 1/1, which incorporates vacuum distillation of the atmospheric resid, visbreaking of the vacuum resid, hydrotreating and cat cracking of the vacuum distillate, and gas fractionation. The combination of these processes and the captive production of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) makes it possible to produce a high-quality gasoline component and other products, while at the same time reducing the energy costs. The cat cracking section can process up to 2 million metric tons of hydrotreated vacuum distillate per year. The feed hydrotreating eliminates the need for desulfurization of the cracked products, increases the yield of gasoline fraction, and reduces the amount of coke that must be burned off. The automotive gasoline component that is obtained in this section has a low sulfur content, less than 0.05% by weight.
