TY - JOUR AU - Palko, Tadeusz AB - The purpose of the work was to design a high frequency ultrasonic probe with PVDF foil. The constructed probe was analyzed by modified Mason's computer model and validated experimentally. The coaxial cable, the compensating circuit, the transmitter and receiver impedances as well as the acoustical loading of the back transducer surface were taken into account. The result of study show that the overall sensitivity increases when the inductance in series compensating the clamped capacitance C o is applied and that the frequency of the transfer function maximum becomes twice lower than the transducer resonance frequency if the back transducer surface is loaded with a material of a high acoustic impedance.
