AB -  The raised backrest of the above trolley collapsed when a sitting patient placed his weight on it. All these trolleys manufactured between January 1986 and July 1990 should be examined to see if the backrest is secured to the top of the trolley or the backrest height adjustment mechanism is held to the backrest using blind (pop) rivets. If so the trolley should be taken out of use and the manufacturer contacted to replace the rivets with nuts and screws.
