AB - A novel method of forming precisely reproducible furnace elements by photolithographic techniques is described. The final furnace element is in sheet form which can be wrapped around an insulating former such as alumina or silica. The artwork can be prepared by computer aided design and as the original design can be dimensionally reduced by optical methods the size of the sheet can be accurately matched to the circumference and length of the supporting tube.
