TY - JOUR AU - BAER, RUDOLF L. AB - Abstract Cataract associated with atopic dermatitis (disseminated neurodermatitis) has been reported fairly frequently, particularly in the recent literature. According to Tostevin,1 Rothmund was the first to describe this occurrence. Cataract in association with this disease of the skin has been reported by a number of other European authors (for a summary, see Ollendorf and Levy2). The first case reported in the American literature was that of W. T. Davis3 in 1921. Since then, many others have been recorded all over the world (Sulzberger,4 Brunsting,5 Daniel,6 Tostevin,1 Cazort and Cook,7 Winkler,8 Rollin,9 and Ollendorf and Levy2). Another ocular complication of atopic dermatitis was reported by Pillat10 in 1937 under the name of keratitis superficialis punctata. During the past year we have had the opportunity to observe several cases of cataract associated with atopic dermatitis as well as 2 cases of References 1. Tostevin, A.
