One interesting correlational experiment by Orme-Johnson and Haynes (1981), included subjects who reported frequent experiences of both pure consciousness and the TM-Sidhi techniques. A ..clear" experience on a TM-Sidhi technique means an experience of specific consequence predicted to occur from its practice. Pure consciousness is considered a necessary condition for the occurrence of the TM-Sidhi phenomena (Aron £, Aron, 1982). Qrme-Johnson and Haynes (1981) found that subjects who consistently reported clear experiences of both pure consciousness and the TM-Sidhi techniques had significantly higher levels of creativity (fluency) than an "unclear" group. They also saw their data as "consistent with the theory that a coherent state of pure consciousness is the necessary condition for successful performance of the TM-Sidhi techniques" (Orme-Johnson £, Haynes, 1981). The present study extends the work of Orrne-Johnson and Hayn~s in three ways: a) a measure of intelligence was investigated in addition to the creativity test; b) self-ratings of.clear experiences of pure consciousness and the TM-Sidhi techniques" were correlated separately with the dependent variables; and c) a much TI - The TM‐Sidhi Program, Pure Consciousness, Creativity and Intelligence JO - The Journal of Creative Behavior DO - 10.1002/j.2162-6057.1985.tb00409.x DA - 1985-12-01 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/wiley/the-tm-sidhi-program-pure-consciousness-creativity-and-intelligence-FeY2c0nqBU SP - 270 VL - 19 IS - 4 DP - DeepDyve ER -
