TY - JOUR AU - Clark, Barry A. J. AB - By microscopic photographs, the delayed action ejection of small sharp-edged fragments from scratches in glass were studied. These fragments are ejected with sufficient velocity to travel to the eyes of spectacle wearers. This hazard is absent for plastic lenses. The hazard, while clearly persent, is of a relatively minor nature and should not be interpreted as justification for the non-use of glass safety spectacles.
