TY - JOUR AU - Likhanosov, V. AB - for a wheel with a radial petal arrangement, and Ra = 0.6-0.8 ~m for a wheel with the petals inclined at 30 ~ . Petal wheels of various type sizes for use in casting and cutting, together with the production equipment required for their fabrication, have been introduced at a number of branch plants for the grinding and polishing of gate valves, sorting screens, the internal surfaces of chemical apparatus, the rotors of screw engines, and other components. The overall annual saving realized from their introduction has been more than 50,000 rubles. The potential for use of the petal tool, however, has yet to be exhausted. This tool makes it possible to increase the efficiency of cleaning and polishing opera- tions using manual grinders, reduce labor outlays, increase the quality of machining, and open the possibility for the mechanization and automation of manual work in the grinding operation.
