V, c. 41), s. 1(1). On April 23,1964, a young man aged 20, a jointer's mate, was killed by an electric shock in the course of his employment with the appellant electricity board. He was a healthy, happy, young man who had just become engaged to be married. Had he lived he would probably have become a jointer at the age of 21. His mother, the respondent, as administratrix of his estate under the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1934, sued the board for damages on behalf of his estate.
