Darinskii An apparatus is described in which the force of contraction and displacement of a muscle are recorded by means of a strain gauge and temperature changes in the muscle recorded by thermocouples during contraction and the resulting electrical signals are amplified and recorded photographically. By means of this apparatus experiments can be carried out on the muscles of animals of different sizes. The investigation of energy processes in the contracting muscle is based on determination of the me- chanical and thermal parameters of the process, from which the external work and the efficiency of the me- chanieal and thermal conversions can be estimated [12,13]. The literature contains descriptions of ap- paratuses by means of which dynamic recordings of these parameters can be made simultaneously on the isolated muscles of cold-blooded animals [6, 11, 121. In some investigations [3, 41 the absence of a simul- taneous record of the mechanical and thermal parameters made the analysis of the energetics of muscular contraction difficult, and some types of apparatus used for these purposes TI - Method of investigating mechanical and thermal parameters of skeletal muscles of warm-blooded animals in situ JF - Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine DO - 10.1007/BF00803324 DA - 2004-11-28 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/method-of-investigating-mechanical-and-thermal-parameters-of-skeletal-EIv9tWzCz0 SP - 1247 EP - 1249 VL - 76 IS - 4 DP - DeepDyve ER -
