For this reason weights are unsatisfactory e-pecially for beginners. hiother method is to cut a ring of filter-paper large cnough to eiwirclt, the einhryo and a portion of thcl extra embryonic membranes, and tht 11 to press this ring down onto the I~lastoderin with the embryo in the ~11- closrd space. There are at least two wrious ohjvctions to this process. In thc first place, if the paper acllicrc~s properly and the membrane, ha\ C’ Imqi stretched a little too iniicli, th(. tissues will tear as they shrink in tlica reagents.
