AB - In this paper, we propose a novel video‐overlay method for an Augmented Reality (AR) display device in order to make more legible images. The basic idea of our proposed method is the adaptive brightness control of two mixed images, one virtual and one real. A distinct brightness difference is made between the real‐world and the virtual‐world images by a control mechanism. We also describe a newly‐developed video‐mixing system for this purpose.
