TY - JOUR AU1 - Leopold, George R. AU2 - Asher, W. Michael AB - Experimental and clinical evidence indicates that the presence of barium within the gut has a degrading effect upon the ultrasonic B-scanning image. It is recommended that such studies be performed at a time when the gut is free of barium. This does not apply to water-soluble contrast material, in the presence of which normal imaging is possible.
