ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate the finishing efficacy of different finishing instruments on GC Fuji GIC-IXGP. The finishing instrument used were Mylar strip, super snap finishing disc, fine grit diamond finishing bur and cabide bur. The results showed that the surface which was set against mylar strip and left undisturbed without resorting to any finishing, has the smoothest appearance and that any finishing procedure results in disruption of the surface smoothness of the glass ionomer restoration.
