TY - JOUR AU - Levishchev, A. AB - CHOICE OF THE OPTIMUM NOZZLE GEOMETRY FOR THE DISCHARGE TUBES OF PRECIPITATING CENTRIFUGES (UDC 621.928~3) Engineer A. N. Levishchev Translated from Khimicheskoe i Neftyanoe Mashinostroenie, No. 6, pp. 10-11, June, 1965 Discharge tubes having a nozzle [1-4] are used for draining the centrifugate from the rotor of a precipitating centrifuge. The principle of operation of these tubes is based on the use of the kinetic energy of the rapidly rotating liquid in the rotor of the centrifuge. During treatment of highly corrosive products in centrifuges it is expedient to use the discharge tubes not only for withdrawal of the eentrifugate, but also for transporting it into the foIlowing ap- paratus. Jets and vortexes should not be fort-ned in the rotating ring of liquid during discharge of the centrifugate via the discharge: tube. At the same time the maximum or assigned efficiency and head should be maintained, i,e,, the maximum possible kinetic energy of the rotating liquid is used. 1 ' t An~ e const.
