AB - A novel method of creating the structure in a panel using complex‐shaped fibers and tubes with co‐drawn wire electrodes will be discussed. The fiber‐based method of manufacturing eliminates all multi‐level processing, all photolithography, and all vacuum deposition steps. In addition, it reduces the number of process steps by a factor of two, simplifies the manufacturing equipment, and removes the requirement for large area process equipment. These advantages lead to a one‐tenth reduction in upfront capital cost and over a 50% lower manufacturing cost.
