TY - JOUR AU - Wiebenga, Barry AB - 37 LOGOS Measuring reading literacy in thirty-five countries Barry Wiebenga A sociology graduate of the University of Amsterdam, Barry Wiebenga started his publishing career in 1964 at J M Meulenhoff. In 1974 he became a lecturer at the Frederik Muller Academy, the academic training institute for bookselling, publishing, librarianship and documentation, and from 1988 to 1999 served as Dean. He was a member of the National Organizing Committee of the 64th Conference of IFLA in Amsterdam. Today he is Managing Director of Stichting Lezen (The Foundation for Reading Promotion) in the Netherlands and Chairman of the European Platform for the Promotion of Reading (EU*READ).
