TY - JOUR AU - Singh, Gurdev AB - In the present work, inkjet 3D printing technology was employed to form clay powder into green ceramic components. Sintering was then applied to consolidate the 3D-printed ceramics to produce the filtration media for water treatment. Specimen characterization and water test were made after preparation, and the effects of sintering temperature on clay ceramic physical and mechanical properties, filtration capability and water quality after filtration were investigated and discussed. Clay ceramics with different shapes and sizes were obtained using inkjet 3D printing technology. Sintering can be employed to obtain and control the properties of the components. From the results of characterization and testing, it was noted that the 3D-printed and sintered clay ceramics had the potential to be used as microfiltration membranes, for example, as pre-filtration media in the water treatment system.
