TY - JOUR AU - Farber, Andrew R. AB - In a previous article, I described how one starts documenting a large computer system for maintenance programmers. We were left at the end of the January issue with a set of index cards and structure charts. Each card represented a separate program or subroutine (called a module), color coded by source language. The structure charts showed the different subroutines a main program called, and the I/O activity of the individual modules. Now we must tackle the problem of converting the cards and rough draft structure charts to documentation that can be understood by others.
