The results show that for different span length (80~120km), optimal forward pumping ratio keeps unchanged, but optimal net gain increases for longer spans. The higher RSNR and insensitivity of OSNR to some random parameters make DMF-RA valuable and practical for terrestrial long span transmission systems. ⎛ G R (z ) = exp ⎜ ⎜ ⎝ ⎞ γ (z ') α p (z ') pp (z ')dz '⎟ . ⎟ ⎠Here g(z) = gR(z)PR /aP(z) is the dimensionless Raman interaction strength, and ⎛ z ⎞ pp ( z ) = k exp ⎜ − α p ( z ') dz '⎟ ⎜ ⎟ ⎝ 0 ⎠1 Introduction Recently, distributed Raman amplifier (RA) has established itself as a viable alternative to discrete doped-fiber amplifiers [1]. Several groups have devoted to optimizing the performance of distributed RA by minimizing the combined effect of amplified spontaneous emission (ASE), double-Rayleigh-Backscattering (DRS), TI - Performance Analysis and Comparison of Bi-directionally Pumped Raman Amplifiers JF - Journal of Optical Communications DO - 10.1515/JOC.2006.27.1.2 DA - 2006-02-01 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/de-gruyter/performance-analysis-and-comparison-of-bi-directionally-pumped-raman-7V0fk2vXyC SP - 2 VL - 27 IS - 1 DP - DeepDyve ER -
