TY - JOUR AB - APPARATUS FOR MEASURING THE WATER CONTENT OF CERAMIC BODIES Berichte D. K. G, (FRG), 1958,No. 9, pp. 309-310 A semiautomatic apparatus for measuring the moisture content of ceramic bodies by determining their electric conductivity measures simultaneously the moisture content of several samples which are placed in a small cup on the apparatus' contact tile. For transmission of the electric current through the specimen, special contact rods ate lowered into the cup with a manual lever. The water content of the specimens is registered continuously on a dial in percentage. The maximum inaccuracy of measurement is ~ 0.75% and with preliminary calibration of the apparatus, by drying out specimens and determining their moisture content, the value of the maximum inaccuracy is reduced to. 0.3%. The apparatus may also be used for automatic additions of water during batch preparation; errors during blending do not exceed 1%. Sklar ~ ker_amik (Czechoslovakia), 1988, No. 5, p 134. A semiautomatic apparatus described in this article carries out rapid determinations of moisture contents of bodies by drying them out in hot air and weighing them directly in the apparatus.
