TY - JOUR AU - Vajda, Istvan AB - We presented a new concept for electrical rotating machines in 2013. We can utilize quasi-diamagnetic behavior of type II high-temperature superconducting materials in order to create repulsion force between the energized stator pole and the rotor pole. With appropriate control strategy, it is possible to create and to maintain a rotating movement based on this repulsive force. The behavior of this motor is quite different from the well-known motor constructions. In order to realize such machine, we are conducting an extended investigation of this machine concept. We have analyzed the concept with finite-element method simulations and analytical calculations. We have identified important design parameters. We are also conducting several experiments in order to test the concept. In this paper, we are going present the results of this investigation.
