Hardback. 2 2 4 pages. 1991. THIS book is one of Wolfe’s range of atlases which aim to present a subject by the use of copious illustrations, an approach to which Diagnostic Radiology is admirably suited. As the preface rightly claims there is no other book which deals extensively with radiography of such a wide range of non-domestic species. There is a very brief general introduction giving minimal information on exposure factors and interpretation. Perhaps more could have been said about the former to assist practitioners embarking on exotic radiography. Oddly, although chemical restraint is emphasised here for the safety of the radiographer many of the illustrations in subsequent sections show manual positioning of patients as, for example, an obviously sedated guinea pig in dorsal recumbency with its hind legs extended by gloved hands. Such restraint methods are neither desirable nor feasible in many exotic species. The main part of the book is divided into three sections, namely Small Mammals, Birds and Reptiles/Amphibians. Each section starts with brief notes on patient preparation, chemical restraint TI - Atlas of Diagnostic Radiology of Exotic Pets JF - Journal of Small Animal Practice DO - 10.1111/j.1748-5827.1993.tb02574.x DA - 1993-01-01 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/wiley/atlas-of-diagnostic-radiology-of-exotic-pets-62BmHIsjA8 SP - 35 VL - 34 IS - 1 DP - DeepDyve ER -
