Shantyr' Vibration diagnostics are one of the very promising methods for engineering maintenance, because the vibrations that arise in machines rather completely reflect the status of the most important units, and also the nature of the operations going on in them. Here we present an easily realized sensitive vibration method for diagnosing friction couples of machines and mechanisms. On the basis of this method we developed a diagnostic device and did experiments on determining the status of roller bearings. At the same time we did investigations with a narrow-band spectrum analyzer. It was shown that friction couples could be diagnosed with this method and device. The diagnostic device operates by transforming measurable mechanical quantities (vibrations of the mechanism) into an electrical quantity, resolving this signal into specific frequency bands, and counting the number of signals with given levels within these bands. The operational principles of this device are based on the following assumptions. The low-frequency vibration signals carry information on geometric defects of the elements of the friction couple, TI - Diagnostic method and device for friction couples JO - Chemical and Petroleum Engineering DO - 10.1007/BF01147326 DA - 2005-01-28 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/diagnostic-method-and-device-for-friction-couples-4uJr243hXB SP - 572 EP - 573 VL - 29 IS - 11 DP - DeepDyve ER -
