AB - NE W S I NTE R N AT I O NAL MAN | FL E XIBL E T WO-S T ROK E VA LV E TIMING MAN Diesel & Turbo has introduced the MAN ECOCAM RETROFIT SOLUTION for low-load optimisation on its MAN B&W brand low-speed engines with mechanical valve actuation and single turbochargers. Using a flexible, hydrauli- cally adjusted cam profile, the device enables fuel savings of 2 to 5 g/kWh while delivering an increase in cylinder peak pressure through adjustable exhaust-valve timing, MAN states. The EcoCam enables earlier closing of the exhaust valve to provide higher compression ratios and hence higher combustion pressure and lower fuel consumption. WÄRTSIL Ä | DUA L-FUEL ENGINE Wärtsilä Corporation has introduced the new 46DF MEDIUM SPEED DUAL-FUEL ENGINE . Two versions are offered, a high efficiency version offering lower fuel con- sumption at 1045 kW/cyl. and a high power version offering 1145 kW/cyl. at higher thermal efficiency. Target applications include cruise ships and ferries, merchant vessels, LNG carri- ers and Floating Storage and Regasification Units, offshore vessels and platforms. With 6 to 16 cylinders, the new 46 cm bore dual-fuel engine has an overall power range of 6.2 to 18.3 MW
