Redak Melon aphid (MA): Aphis gossypii Glover The efficacy of selected pesticides for control of MA were compared with a water check in the Fall of 2002 on potted chrysanthemum plants in greenhouses at the University of California Riverside campus. Plants were potted in 15-cm pots, placed on raised greenhouse benches, fertilized once with approximately 7 g of Osmocote (14-14-14), and irrigated every other day. The plants were exposed to MA infested plants at the University of California Agricultural Operations, Riverside. A single terminal was chosen to monitor the efficacy of selected pesticides. A twist tie was placed approximately 2 inches below the terminal bud, and all aphids above the twist tie were monitored throughout the trial. A pre-treatment count was taken on 22 Nov and was followed by treatment application. Foliar applications were applied to runoff using a backpack sprayer with a standard flat fan nozzle at 30-40 psi. Systemic applications were applied using TI - CONTROL OF MELON APHID ON CHRYSANTHEMUM UNDER GREENHOUSE CONDITIONS, 2002 JF - Arthropod Management Tests DO - 10.1093/amt/29.1.G29 DA - 2004-01-01 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/oxford-university-press/control-of-melon-aphid-on-chrysanthemum-under-greenhouse-conditions-400dlOAMCT VL - 29 IS - 1 DP - DeepDyve ER -
