Palii UDC 529.781 In the Soviet Union and abroad, the transmissions of accurate time and frequency signals through u.l.w., 1.w. and s.w. radio stations are widely used for synchronizing frequency measures and joining time scales. However, this method of transmitting information about the standard frequency value and moments of time signals does not completely satisfy the demands of the diverse areas of science and technology with respect to ac- curacy and reliability of the measurement result. Errors in synchronizing frequency measures and joining time scales according to these signals depend on the overall effect of many factors and primarily on the instability of the receiving-transmitting apparatus characteristics, the variability of radio wave propagation conditions and the recording error, these components being different for various radio wave ranges and being determined by tens and hundreds of microseconds. As preliminary investigations which were completed in VNIIFTRI (All-Union Scientific-Research Institute for Physicotechnical and Radiotechnical Measurements) showed, a reduction of these errors by one to two orders is pos- sible by using reflections from meteor trails (MT); radio relay lines (RRL); intercity cable line TI - Experimental evaluation of the error of joining time scales over wide-band communication and television channels JF - Measurement Techniques DO - 10.1007/BF01409116 DA - 2005-03-17 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/experimental-evaluation-of-the-error-of-joining-time-scales-over-wide-3j0x0rECe4 SP - 670 EP - 674 VL - 13 IS - 5 DP - DeepDyve ER -
