TY - JOUR AU - Hartwick, Richard, A. AB - Abstract Aromatic cation-exchange packing materials were synthesized via sulfonations of chlorodimethyl (3-phenylpropyl) silane bonded to 10-μm irregular silica. Sulfonation either before or after attachment of the silane to the support could be performed, each producing phases with different exchange capacities and selectivities. Reaction progress was monitored using elemental analysis, titration data, and capillary gas chromatography analysis of acid-hydrolysed phases. This content is only available as a PDF.
