AB - ORGANIZATION OF THE REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT OF AUTOMATIC GLASS-MOLDING MACHINES UDC 666.1.033.3.004.69 The Roslavl' Glass Plant according to the technical and economic indices achieved is one of the first in the system of plants of the Ministry of the Building Materials Industry of the RSFSR with respect to bottle production. The average daily production of 0.5-liter beer bottles on the AB-6 machine is 29,300 units, the equipment use factor is 0.96, the operating speed of the automatic machines is 22.2 gobs/min, the molten glass use factor is 0.91-0.92. In achieving high indices a major role was played by rationally organized preventive maintenance of the glass-molding equipment. A mechanical repair shop staffed by skilled personnel has been created at the plant. It has all the necessary spare parts for the equipment of the production shop. It was reorgan- ized in 1973. At present only routine repairs of the machines are performed in the production shop. Five mech- anics routinely repair the cylinders, shears, synchronizers, and ventilation systems. Overhauling of the AB-6 automatic machines (lifting mechanisms, brackets, turnovers, pins, preparation of parison and finishing molds, machine assembly) is done by the mechanical repair shop where six mechanics work.
