TY - JOUR AU - Sun, Yulin AB - Wireless Battery Management System (WBMS) is a solution that uses wireless communication technology to monitor the battery pack of electric vehicles. Compared to traditional wired battery management systems (BMS), wireless transmission technology can provide a more efficient, flexible and scalable battery management solution. This paper presents a reliable WBMS communication protocol that utilizes a dual-cycle frame structure to support the sampling data transmission of both battery pack voltage and bus current. A WBMS network simulator is developed based on OMNeT++ framework, and the network performance is evaluated with different propagation parameters. The simulation results show that the proposed wireless communication protocol has remarkable performance even in the presence of WiFi and Bluetooth interference.
