TY - JOUR AU - Efuné, I. AB - I. M. Efunfi In instrument-making~it is normal to use bronze bearings and holders with agate or corundum bearings in order to decrease friction in gear and spindle journals. In order to ensure accurate distances between gear centers, the wobble in these bearings and bearing holders must not exceed permissible limits. It is difficult to check wobble in these details owing to their small diameters, down to 0.4 ram, and a comparatively large tolerance specified for them. Along AB Ft lW An indicating device developed by the author for this purpose is shown by the attached figure. Supports for an interchangeable mandrel 2, a centering bearing 8, lever 4 and two indicators 5 are mounted on base 1. For placing the detail to be tested in position sprung lever 6 is tilted, releasing mandrel 2, on whose tapered end shaft the tested detail 7 is firmly fixed, measuring feeler 8 of the radial wobble indicator is withdrawn, mandrel 2 pivot engaged in centering bearing 3 and held in position by means of lever 6 which is operated by spring 9. In the operating position the feeler of lever 4 rides on the end surface and indicator feeler 8 on the TI - A device for checking wobble in small bearings JO - Measurement Techniques DO - 10.1007/BF00975501 DA - 2004-12-28 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/a-device-for-checking-wobble-in-small-bearings-1X4Zz0yiDI SP - 255 EP - 255 VL - 2 IS - 4 DP - DeepDyve ER -
