Tishchenko In measuring antennas and developing reference equipment for measuring field strength it is often necessary to know the distribution of the field close to the radiating systems. The probes normally used for this purpose have a feeder which serves to transmit the signal from the probe to the recording device. Errors contributed by the use of feeders are due to possible feeder pick-ups and the distortion of the measured field by feeders. In measuring fields with an approximately known distribution this error can be reduced by adopting special measures, whereas in measuring fields with an unknown distribution the error can attain %1 dB according to the evaluations in [I]. Therefore, it is important to develop probes which provide a measuring method [2-5] free from errors produced by the use of feeders. Below we propose a probe based on a spherical antenna used without a feeder and suitable for: I) placing the signal-recording device in the body of the antenna; 2) measuring local electrical-field component values for an antenna radius considerably smaller than the wave- length; 3) measuring the TI - Method for measuring electromagnetic field strength without a feeder JF - Measurement Techniques DO - 10.1007/BF00828434 DA - 2004-11-30 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/method-for-measuring-electromagnetic-field-strength-without-a-feeder-0gLo0DRU9Q SP - 316 EP - 317 VL - 22 IS - 3 DP - DeepDyve ER -
