Matveeva UDC 677.494.675.044.321 Coloured Capron stretch yarn intended mainly for hosiery has been in large-scale production at the Klin Man-Made Fibre Combine since 1966. The large output was made possible when the Combine adopted the suspension method of colouring in which the extracted polyamide chips are treated with a solution of a suspension or with a leuco compound of one dye alone or in mixtures with others /I/. The method was introduced after laboratory trials with Soviet-produced and imported specimens of certain classes of dyes which form solutions or suspensions in water or leuco compounds. The trials were carried out on the basis of the thermostability of the dye in a polymer solution at 275 - 285°C and its water-solubility, degree of dispersion, ability of being absorbed by the chips, and fastness on the fibre. The thermostability of the dye, whether alone or in mixtures, was tested by the following method: A portion of 40 g air-dried extracted chips is placed into a 500 cm 3 round- bottom flask after which the dye liquor is added in the liquor ratio of 2/I. The flask is then connected to a reflux condenser and its TI - Dyes for suspension dyeing of polyamide JF - Fibre Chemistry DO - 10.1007/BF00545714 DA - 2004-10-13 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/dyes-for-suspension-dyeing-of-polyamide-0Y4RA1bVHG SP - 223 EP - 224 VL - 7 IS - 2 DP - DeepDyve ER -
