Suchproperties have been detected in ribosylated analogues of free nitrogen bases -- purines and pyrimidines. Compound (I) has found wide use in industrial chemical synthesis of vitamin Ba (riboflavin) [8]. It must be mentioned that, as a rule, schemes for the synthesis of nucleosides include as a necessary stage the ribosylation of a nitrogen base with activated derivatives of (I) the preparation which requires the use of the chemically pure initial carbohydrate. This circumstance prevents the use in the synthesis of nucleotides of (I) isolated from technical solutions in the form of a noncrystallizing syrup contaminated with sugars having an anomer- ic structure and also with the corresponding polyols.
