KERN AND Co., LTD., Aarau, Switzerland THIS instrument, due to P. E. Schiller,* is stated to enable visual or photographic studies to be made of movements, whether transient, aperiodic or periodic. A slotted disk rotates in front of the observer’s eye and splits up the movement under investigation into distinct phases following one another in raDid succession. The so-called “super-stroboscope” effect is produced by a mirror with several faces rotating in front of the slotted disk; it deflects the images so that the eye views the images separated out by the slots, side by side, as indicated in Figs.
