Prokof'ev UDC 535.853.33 The use of a toroidal diffraction grating in a monochromator makes it possible to significantly reduce the astigmatism typical of spherical diffraction gratings and to substantially increase the luminosity of the device. This has been demonstrated on a Seya-Namioka scheme [1] as has the feasibility of using such gratings in Eagle and normal incidence configurations, thatis, at small angles of incidence. In such spectrographs it is possible to photograph step attenuators used to obtain intensity references in the spectrum. The process of forming a monochromatic image of a point in the entrance slit of a monochromator lying in the plane of the Rowland circle by means of a toroidal diffraction grating has been examined in [3] for widely varying incidence and diffraction angles. In particular, it was shown that such a grating acts in a very distinc- tive manner on the astigmatic form of a monochromatic image: The ends of this image shrink toward the plane of the Rowland circle; however, at stigmatic points significant perpendicular aberrations remain which cause a reduction in the resolution of the TI - Monochromatic images of the entrance slit of a spectral apparatus with a toroidal diffraction grating JF - Journal of Applied Spectroscopy DO - 10.1007/BF00612238 DA - 2004-10-25 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/springer-journals/monochromatic-images-of-the-entrance-slit-of-a-spectral-apparatus-with-0LjCFYaXig SP - 1260 EP - 1264 VL - 27 IS - 4 DP - DeepDyve ER -
