TY - JOUR AU - Ziegler, Andreas AB - The second edition of the book Linear Models with R deciphers the principles of linear models and gives the reader a step‐by‐step approach to analyzing data with linear models in the statistical software R. The book is driven by intuitive formulations rather than statistical theory and mathematical proofs, and this approach to writing will be highly appreciated by many applied researchers in any field. Compared with the first edition, Faraway has reorganized the material to ensure a sensible and continuous flow of the statistical content with minimal statistical derivations. We find this organization very appealing. The author also exudes his wealth of experience with linear models by giving caution and highlighting common mistakes that might be committed by novice statisticians. The numerous examples and well‐explained R code will be valuable to many data analysts. The book is well written in simple language, has numerous exercises at the end of each chapter and a supportive website at http://people.bath.ac.uk/jjf23/LMR . This website contains R script files and their corresponding outputs, organized by chapter. Faraway's choice to include all the datasets in an R package, called faraway, makes it easy for the readers to conveniently reproduce all the analyses contained in TI - Linear Models with R . J. J. Faraway ( 2014 ). Boca Raton : Chapman & Hall/CRC Press . 274 pages, ISBN‐13: 9781439887332.
