TY - JOUR AU1 - Hagspiel, Klaus D. AU2 - Kandarpa, Krishna AU3 - Silverman, Stuart G. AB - Open‐configuration MRI systems have been recently introduced and hold promise to allow the performance of a variety of minimally invasive procedures. Experience with MR‐guided catheter‐based luminal interventions is experimental to date. This is the first case of a successful percutaneous nephrostomy tube placement in a patient in an interventional MR system. The procedure was performed completely under MR guidance, and technical aspects are reviewed and compared with other, established techniques for percutaneous nephrostomy placement.
