TY - JOUR AU - Griffin, G. F. AB - Commercial soil‐water samplers have been modified by using small diameter nylon tubing and toggle valves to achieve remote sampling. Particular benefits of this technique are: (i) elimination of traffic at the sampler site, thus preventing excessive soil compaction and plant damage at the site which could alter the experimental results; (ii) facilitation of multiple sampling and/or frequent sampling; and (iii) reduction of inter‐sample contamination caused by residual solution in long lines. Field equipment is shown and discussed.
