Grand Rapids, Michigan: Eerdmans. 2007170 pages, ISBN13: Dorothy Martyn, from her psychoanalytical practice, gives the reader a look into her play-therapy room where three 6-9 year old children present their journeys over some months. She uses these children to provide a lens through which the reader can better understand what transpires in their minds and how that is affecting their actions in the world. Martyn interprets the children's play using metaphors from the Emily Dickinson poem "Bloom" supported by a number of other poems and literary works in order to elucidate her thesis.
