We have been very forttmate to have the Rijksherbarium and the University of Utrecht support IAWA over the years. However, the Executive Secretary and the Council are considering a modest dues increase to cover anticipated costs of printing and mailing. In addition, IAWA will need to consider moving its headquarters from Utrecht to an­ other location sometime in the next few years. Remember to pay your dues early to avoid unnecessary delays in receiving your Journal and to help IAWA with its finan­ cial matters. Comments invited to the IAWA List of Softwood Features The IAWA Council has appointed a Committee to prepare a list of features used in microscopic and macroscopic softwood identification, based on the work by Immo Heinz, Dietger Grosser, and Jorgo Richter in Hamburg and Munich. Members are Pieter Baas, Nadezhda Blokhina, Peter Gasson, Dmitrij Gromyko, Dietger Grosser, Immo Heinz, Jugo Ilic, Rene Keller, Regis Miller, LeeAnn Newsom, Shuichi Noshiro, Jorgo Richter (co-ordinator), Mitsuo Suzuki, Teresa Terrazas, Elisabeth Wheeler and Jiang Xiaomei.
