Migliorini for the Encyclopedia Americana, ed . 1950 (vol. xv, pp . 496-500 : ' Italy: language'). The znd vol. of the excellent historical grammar by G. Rohlfs (Historische Grammatik der italienischen Sprache, II, Bern, Francke) includes nominal, pronominal and verbal morphology, and the greater part of syntax. A new ed . of the Dizionario moderno b y A. Panzini has been published (Milano, Hoepli), containing a reprint of the text of 1942, with an appendix of about 8000 neologisms by B. Mi­ gliorini .
