GENERAL Several noteworthy collections of essays on various aspects of D.'s work have appeared recently; among them are Silvio Abbadessa, Trame e ragioni dantesche, Bologna, Patron, 1982, 165 pp., and Mario Aversano, Il vela di Venere: allegoria e teologia dell'immaginario dantesco, Naples, Federico e Ardia, 205 pp. A Festschrift containing a number of articles of interest to Dantists is Misc. Fallani, which includes contributions by G. Petrocchi ('Ancora sull'autobiografia dantesca della Commedia') , M. Mazzotti (,Questioni dantesco-portuensi'), S. Accardo (,Dante e S. Benedetto'), E. Paratore ('Infirno III'), and S. Pasquazi (,Infimo XXIV'). Paolo Brezzi, Letture dantesche di argomento . storico-politico, Naples, Ferraro, 1983, 2 17 pp., is another collection of essays, which includes lecturae (of Inf. XVI and XIX, Purg. XX and XXIX, and Par. XVII and XXI), encyclopaedia-entries (on St Peter and the Church), and more general pieces on D.'s concept of Rome and his ecclesiology.
